The 2026 10th International Conference on Hydrodynamics, Energy and Electric Power System (HEEPS 2026) Successfully Held in Beijing
From October 16 to 18, 2026, the 2026 10th International Conference on Hydrodynamics, Energy and Electric Power System (HEEPS 2026) was held in Room 116, Building No. 2, Teaching Area, Xueyuan Road Campus, Beihang University, Beijing. The conference was hosted by the Sino-French Engineer School of Beihang University and the College of Aerospace Engineering of Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, with support from the University of Agder, Norway, and Hanjiang National Laboratory. The conference attracted active participation from scholars from multiple countries.

At the opening ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Xingrong Huang, Vice Dean of the Sino-French Engineer School of Beihang University, and Prof. Yangwei Liu, Chair of the Conference and professor at Beihang University and Nanchang Hangkong University, delivered addresses respectively. On behalf of the organizers and the conference organizing committee, the two speakers welcomed the participating experts, scholars, and young students. In her address, Xingrong Huang introduced the development history and achievements of the Sino-French Engineer School of Beihang University. Yangwei Liu reviewed the development of HEEPS over its ten editions and stated that the conference would continue to promote the interdisciplinary integration of hydrodynamics and energy and electric power systems and serve energy transition and the “dual carbon” goals.

Address
The conference focused exchanges on frontier topics such as basic theories of hydrodynamics, numerical simulation of fluid mechanics, optimization of renewable energy systems, operation and control of hydropower stations, and new energy grid-connection technologies. In the keynote session, Prof. Weixi Huang of Tsinghua University; Prof. Yangwei Liu of Beihang University and Nanchang Hangkong University; Prof. Saim Memon of Birmingham City University, UK; Prof. Wei Wang of Tianjin University; Dr. Xingrong Huang of Beihang University; and Prof. Biao Wang of Sichuan University delivered keynote presentations respectively. Their presentations covered vortex dynamics in biological flight and swimming, CFD modeling of complex unsteady flows in axial compressors, vacuum insulation and energy system integration, compact energy harvesters, fluid–solid–electric multi-field coupling simulation, and self-powered wearable sensing and monitoring systems.

Keynote presentations
In the invited and oral presentation sessions, several scholars exchanged views on topics including digital and intelligent design of aircraft electromechanical systems, prediction of slurry erosion in variable-geometry pipeline components, dynamic carbon accounting for forest–wood product systems, evolution of multimodal internal waves in three-layer fluids, hydrodynamic characteristics of permeable sheet-pile spur dikes, propeller response, flow-induced vibration and energy harvesting, bubble breakup and cavitation collapse, and vortex-induced rotation. On the afternoon of the conference day, an awards ceremony was held, at which the Best Paper Award and Best Oral Presentation Award were presented to recognize participants who stood out in paper research and on-site presentations and to encourage young scholars to engage deeply in academic exploration and engineering practice.

Awards ceremony
This conference brought together experts, scholars, and young students from home and abroad. Addressing the contemporary proposition of green and low-carbon transition, it helped promote the efficient, safe, and sustainable development of hydrodynamics and energy and electric power systems. In particular, the role of mechanics in energy harvesting was discussed in depth and detail, contributing the wisdom and strength of the academic community to the high-quality development of the global carbon neutrality cause.
